Reuters launched a new website dedicated to the world's most popular sport this week.

The website will provide in-depth coverage of the English and Scottish Premier Leagues, UK domestic cup tournaments and the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup. It will also cover all the latest football news from the major leagues and cup tournaments in Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia. 

Its launch, on reuters.co.uk, coincides with the start of the football season in some of the world's biggest leagues, in France, Germany and England.

Sports coverage is seen as high value by many Reuters customers and is a factor in why they choose Reuters as their supplier of news and information.

Users of the new site can look forward to: breaking football news and award-winning photography from Reuters and Action Images; in-depth match commentary and team information; football blogs from the Pluck blog network, and from Reuters team of global reporters; regular interactive polls on the key issues of the week.
